God's Love

As the Lenten season begins, it is important to take a moment to reflect on what this time means for our relationship with God. Lent is a time to celebrate God's love. Here are three characteristics of God’s Love that we might do well to reflect on this lent:

God never abandons us. Just as He accompanied Adam and Eve, He is always with us, seeking us out and drawing us back to Him. God loves to be with His people, and He has been there for us throughout the Old Testament, through the desert and all the way to the cross.

God does not condemn us for our sins. Instead, He reconciles with us and offers us a door of hope to come back to Him. Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery, and God does not condemn us either. Instead, He calls us to live a full life in His love.

God's love transforms us deeply. If we let Him, His love will change us in profound ways. Just as Jesus transformed Peter from being a coward and a denier to being the first Pope and leader of the church, God wants to give us a new purpose and transform us as well.

As we journey through Lent, let us reflect on God's unwavering presence in our lives and seek to strengthen our relationship with Him. Let us also remember that God's love for us is unconditional, and He offers us forgiveness and a new beginning. Lent is a time to return to God, to celebrate His love for us, and to be transformed by that love.
