Fr. Pepe Ruiz, S.J
He is originally from Ciudad Juárez, México. During High school he was very involved in giving Ignatian preached retreats to his peers, offering up one-third of his weekends for this purpose. He was halfway through degrees in Industrial Engineering and Organizational Development when he felt a calling. His Father had a Jesuit Spiritual Director from the now UCS Central Province, who became his own Spiritual Director as he discerned his vocation. In 2004 he joined the Jesuits.
He has focused most of his formation on studying and practicing Ignatian Spirituality and Spiritual Direction. Holding 3 master’s degrees, one being an M.Div., the second a M.Th. with a focus on Spiritual Direction (both from Boston College), and a third master’s in Ignatian Spirituality from the University of Comillas in Madrid, Spain. He has been a High school Campus Minister, a teacher, a vicar, and a pastor, always accompanying people as a Spiritual Director, and always sharing Ignatian Spirituality with others.
